So as some of you will of seen we went off on our first family holiday on monday to parkdean newquay. Due to unforseen events we had to cut our holiday short wich we are really upset about.
We arrived at the park much earlier than the check in time of four pm but were welcomed, given our park passds and invited to use the park facilities until it was time to get the keys.
In this time we took a walk around the park and check out what it had to offer. This park is excellent for families especially those for with toddlers. Big is 17 months and all the play parks are enclosed, meaning i could shut the gate, let him get on with and relax with small.
there is a small one level soft play with sofas and a book corner. Once again this was great as it meant i could just let big play freely whilst i sat with small.
Any members of the staff we asked for things were very polite and friendly, especially the guy who runs the shop.
Whilst we were waiting for our keys we went swimming in the three pool complex. The pool area is very sunny, some shade is provided but more would be very popular i think. At this point we had a bit of a problem. As my partner emerged from the swimming pool he suddenly realised he had our phones in his pocket. My phone i blog with and take and edit photos with! Luckily my phone has lived but the camera function is no more. My partners phone is dead.
The pool complex is great especially with a seperate baby pool. This is where we spent all of our pool time and the kids loved it.
Our caravan was lovely and clean and tidy and not long after we settled in staff came round to check we were ok and if anything needed fixing.
This is where the park service gets a mention. It was truky exceptional. They were very helpful moving beds to help with the mass travel cot situation and fixing things straight away. The first time we used the oven for dinner and it didnt work. They needed a gas man to come and fix and got us dinner free of charge from the on site kitchen.
Even though we could only stay 2 nights out of our 4 booked we had a lovely time in a lovely place.

The Great Big Weaning Debate.
So im part of one of these mummy groups on facebook. Its a small group maybe around 30 girls. 30 very strong minded girls.
There is a girl on there posting about feeding her 8 week old baby rice. Its pretty obvious shes going to do it anyway but yet people advice her against it.
Then it gets crazy. An "older" mother is actively encouraging early weaning. Its like all that hard scientific research into weaning might aswell meber of happened. I understand weaning for medical reasons but shoving a rusk down your 9 week olds throat so he sleeps through? That just got dam lazy. That baby is waking at night for a milk feed. give him one.
"Oh well i was on solids at two weeks never did me any harm" how often have i heard that! I dont think they understand problems occur later in life.
Said baby rice girl then posts a picture of her baby with it all over his face. Evidance the tounge thrust reflex is still well in action and the baby is not ready to be weaned.
i start a thread about baby led weaning and they tell me that its wrong and dangerous when its the most natural thing in the world. Letting baby decide what to eat when they are ready and letting them decide when they are full. No mush. No jars no stages of food. Healthy family food enjoyed as a family. Everyone together.
Weaning is always going to be a big debate but why do so many people think early weaning is ok?

Review: Morrisons & Kiddicare Little Big Newborn Nappies and Easy Cleaning wipes.
I saw an advert for these nappies on the tv so i thought i would try them out. Once again this is a review based on small so size one.
These nappies are great! Kept small dry from 8.30pm-6.30am didnt smell or even feel bulgy like others. They feel lovely and soft and thick. This is alot to be said for a supermarket brand nappy.
Small wore this overnight and the nappy did not move or leak. Very impressed. The nappies have tabs wich allow flexibility wich i believe helps stop leeks. The paw print design is very cute to.
These nappies are a great buy at just under £2 a pack for 27 size one newborn nappies. I would really reccomend this product.
Next up i tried the Little Big Easy cleaning wipes. I needed new wipes and these were the same price as the wipes i normally purchase so i thought why not?!
I really really like these wipes. They smell lovely ( enriched with camomille and aloe vera) and they are lovely and thick and soft. I often find supermarket brands to be thin resulting in poo finger! They also tend to be very wet though recently i used a known brand and they were so wet i could ring them out! The Little Big wipes were perfect. Big and small are clean and smell yummy!
These wipes are amazing and are great value at 4 packs for £3!! I would definatly recommend these wipes and will be the ones im using from now on.
Great collabaration so far Morrisons and Kiddicare. Very very impressed.

Review: Sainsbury's Little Ones size one nappies.
I was given a pack of these nappies for small from a friend as her baby had outgrown them. Free nappies is always a good thing!
These nappies are good but feel thin compared to other brands. Small is quite a heavy wetter and sometimes they fail to keep him dry. Especially overnight. I would like it if these nappies had tabs for flexibility instead of just sticking the sticky part straight onto the nappy.
However these nappies fit small nicely and are great at keeping poo in as they sit snugly around the leg. I have used the premature size to as small was born a tiny 5lb 4oz/2410grms I would get these nappies if they were on offer. Not on offer these nappies retail at £2.17 for 27 wich is a great price!

So its been a long time since ive blogged. Ive decided to start afresh.
Were off on our first family holiday to PARKDEAN Newquay soon!. it looks great, lots of local attractions and the golden sands looks beautiful. Were going with my friend and i cant wait to see all the young running round. Big ( 17 months) will be going in a a bed for the week. Eeek! I hope he stays in and goes to sleep nicely.
The man fellow wants to leave early as its a long drive for us. There will be plenty of breaks but im sure the boys will be very comfy in their Britax and Maxi-cosi seats. Once big reaches 13kg were going into extended rear facing with the Britax Max-Way.
i think weve got all the esentials covered thanks to tesco and their baby event! Also there deal on 3 crates of beer/cider for £22! We will be stocking up!
Ive been asking the man fellow to clean his car for 2 months now. Maybe the car is going to get a holiday treat?
